Story
When Cargill Animal Nutrition decided to add small-bag capabilities to its Granger facility, the project introduced an entirely new level of operational complexity. The site was moving beyond bulk production into a greenfield bagging operation, while construction of the facility itself was still underway. At the same time, local team members had limited experience with robotic packaging systems, making both integration and training critical to a successful launch.
Premier Tech stepped in as a specialized partner, allowing the general contractor to stay focused on the building while Premier Tech managed the installation and commissioning of the bagging equipment. The solution included two OML-1170-N open-mouth baggers and two WSN-4000 Series bagging scales, supported by a hybrid training program designed to build operator confidence before and during start-up.
Beyond installation, Premier Tech helped create the conditions for long-term performance. With a service agreement and client portal in place, Cargill gained better visibility into maintenance planning, improved budget predictability, and stronger day-to-day reliability. The result was a smoother transition into bagging operations, increased line uptime, reduced immediate repair and maintenance costs, and a local team ready to operate the new systems with confidence.
“These packing line can become complex, and when you find a company that specialize in putting packing lines together, obviously their skill set is a lot more than a standard millwright.”
