Mikskaar is an Estonian family company and one of the largest substrate producers in the country, with a legacy spanning nearly 30 years. Guided by a commitment to serve growers anywhere in the world with the best possible substrate, Mikskaar has continuously invested in sourcing and processing high-quality raw materials, always focusing on purity, safety, and performance.
The cooperation with Premier Tech began in the late 1990s, as Mikskaar looked to modernize its facilities and respond to the growing global demand for specialized substrates. Facing challenges such as limited production space, restricted access to peat moss, and the unpredictability of weather, Mikskaar needed a partner capable of driving both innovation and operational efficiency.
A pivotal step was the integration of the SLOOTWEG BPE SERIES wood fiber machine, enabling Mikskaar to produce lightweight, compressible substrates less dependent on weather than traditional peat moss. The result was a highly efficient process and excellent product quality, allowing growers to benefit from consistent, reliable substrates regardless of climate.
As demand for wood fiber substrates continued to grow, Mikskaar decided to expand production, ordering a second SLOOTWEG BPE SERIES machine from Premier Tech. This partnership exemplifies Mikskaar’s commitment to continuous improvement, flexibility, and international standards—bolstered by their longstanding membership in the German Gütegemeinschaft Substrate and RAL quality certification.
